I have a pattern that is supposed to produce "arrows" but I can't figure out how to do it. The pattern says to " skip three stitches, then triple crochet, then, behind the triple crochet, double crochet into the three skipped stitches. On the next row, you skip three stitches and then triple crochet, then over the triple crochet you double crochet into the skipped stitches. I cannot get it to look anything like the picture. Pls. tell me how to "go behind the triple crochet. Is it behind the work?

db in the order of skipped stitches, not backwards
The video referenced above is correct, but the written instructions do not reflect the same pattern. You should work double crochet stitches behind the treble crochet, starting with the first not worked stitch, rather than in reverse order. So you work the first double crochet in the fisrt skipped stitch, the second dc in the second skipped sticth and the third one in the third skipped stitch.

Basically, after you work your tc, keeping the work facing in the same direction, wrap yarn around your hook and then insert your hook in the skipped chain immediately to the right of your tc, sort of like how you would do a reverse sc aka crab stitch. Work your dc and then wrap your yarn, insert hook into the chain immediately to the right of the dc you just completed and work the same way.
