I just got the "Top down for toddlers" book. The majority of the patterns call for Butterfly Super 10 yarn which I am unable to locate locally. Since I have never knit with this yarn does anyone have any suggestions for a substitute? Thank you.

Butterfly Super 10
Even though this is an old post I had to add my two cents! Butterfly super 10 is the best yarn that I've ever had the pleasure to work with! If you can find it you should try it. It's expensive but truly worth the price! I doubt there is a supstitute.

I just noticed KT's response and wanted to add that Paradise Fibers has given me the best service of any on-line yarn shop. One thing that impressed me was that (at least the last time I shopped with them) they only charged the actual postage charges for mailing, not some "handling" charge as well.

I googled Butterfly Super 10 cotton and got lots of sites. Here's one of them [www.paradisefibers.net]
This is apparently a DK weight mercerized yarn -- just look for DK-weight yarn. If you like the slightly shiny look of the items knit with this yarn, look for cotton yarn that is mercerized or for yarn with some rayon, bamboo, or silk for the sheen.
