Materials:
Bargello Pattern
- 4-ply Worsted-weight yarns, 7 ozs. (198 grams) each of --
A - Medium Blue
B - Light Blue
C - Lavender
D - Light Lavender
E - Dark Pink
F - Light Pink
G - Medium Coral
H - Light Coral
I - Light Yellow
J - Light Turquoise
K - Turquoise
- Crochet hook: Size H-8 (5 mm) Gauge
- In pattern: 6 blocks = 7"; 8 rows = 4 1/4".
- Use any size hook to obtain the gauge given.
Row 1 (Right Side): Double crochet (dc) in 4th chain (ch) from hook, dc in next 2 ch, * [skip 2 ch, slip stitch in next ch, ch 3, dc in next 3 ch] 3 times; [ch 3, sl st in next ch, skip next 2 ch, dc in next 3 ch] 3 times; rep from * to last ch, dc in last ch; turn -- 8 chevrons.
Note: Now work all dc and slip stitch (sl st) into the back loop only of dc and ch on every row.
Row 2: Ch 3, skip first dc, * [dc in next 3 dc, skip sl st, skip 2 ch of ch-3, sl st in next ch, ch 3] 3 times, [dc in next 3 dc, ch 3, sl st in next ch, skip next 2 ch, skip sl st] 3 times; repeat (rep) from * to last 4 sts; dc in next 3 dc, dc in 3rd ch of last ch-3 changing to next color **, turn.
** To change color at the end of the second row of a color, yarn over (yo), insert hook into the back lp of the 3rd ch of ch-3 and draw lp through, yo and draw through 2 lps on hook, cut color in use leaving a 4" strand, with next color to be used yo and draw through 2 lps remaining on hook -- dc-color change worked.

Afghan
With A ch 295. Work 2 rows of Bargello pattern with each color in the following sequence: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K. Repeat color sequence 6 more times, then work 2 more rows of A.
Alternate Color-Way
9 ozs (255 grams) each of:
Afghan
- A - Dark Blue
- B - Medium Dark blue
- C - Light Blue
- D- Medium Light Blue
- E - Teal
- F - Light Teal
- G - Turquoise
- H - Light Turquoise
With A ch 295. Work 2 rows of Bargello pattern with each color in the following sequence: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H. Repeat color sequence 8 more times, then work 2 more rows each of A, B, C and D.
