I am attempting the green knit baby afghan pattern shown on the Lemon Custard Baby Coordinates yarn. I do not see a pattern number unless it is 166009, but Bernat describes it as a simple ripple pattern.

The pattern appears to work out but I end up coming up short by 2 stitches. My mother-in-law, who is an experiences knitter says there is a problem with the pattern.

Begin with 217 stitches (I'm not experiences with round knitting needles), so I started with 63 stitches and thought I would sew it together.

I need help with this pattern. I can get the 1st two rounds then when i go to do the 3rd i get stuck.

The pattern is ch 76 using C. Rnd 1: beg in 2nd ch from hook,sc in 2nd ch and in each ch across to last ch;work 3 sc in last ch to turn corner; working along opposite side of beg ch, sc in rem loop of each of the next 73 ch, work 2 sc in last ch, end by joing mc with slip st in first sc -152 sc in rnd.

Row 6 reads: Ss in first dc. Ss in each of next 3 ch. Ss in each of next 2 sc. I can't find any reference to an ss stitch! can anyone help me?

How do you figure the number of stitches across the sides of an afghan when the pattern calls for more stitches than the number of rows you have
