Hi,
i have 9 stitches on my needle.
Here is the pattern:
K1 , ( cast on 3 sts, cast off 3 sts, k1 ) 4 times
P.S: The cast on sts is by knitted cast on method
When I do this pattern as above I have remaining 4 unworked sts on my needle. I believe this is wrong because there should be 9 worked sts on the right needle if I follow the above correctly.
If you can help with the detailed explanation, I'd be very grateful. Please help.
Thanks
Bikki

You begin with a k1.
When you come to stitch 2 on your left needle, that will be the start of your cast-on 3 using the knit cast on. After you cast on and cast off 3 you will have worked this stitch and you should now have 7 stitches on your left needle and 2 stitches on your right needle. Then you knit 1, leaving you with 6 stitches on your left needle and 3 stitches on your right needle.
Now you are on stitch 4 on your left needle. This will be the starting point of your cast-on 3. After you you cast-off three, this stitch should now be on your right needle. You will have 5 stitches on your left needle and 3 stitches on your right needle.
Your cast on/cast off stitches will be forming little picots along the edge of your knitting. As I the directions, you should end up with 9 stitches.
