I am fairly new to reading crochet patterns. I bought a cute pattern for baby slippers. Can someone PLEASE explain this pattern? This is just for the sole. I guess if you could just explain what a round is, and maybe explain the first round I would really appreciate it!
Sole:
Rnd 1
With color A ch 14 (15), 2 sc in 2nd ch
from hook, 8 sc, 3 (4) hdc, 4 hdc in last
ch, 3 (4) hdc down the other side of foundation
ch, 8 sc, 2 sc in last ch that already
has 2 sc in it. Join with sl st. At end of
row you should have 30 (32) total
stitches.

All rows start in same stitch as ch 1
unless otherwise noted.

Rnd 2
Ch 1 , 2 sc in each of the next two
stitches, 6 (7) sc, 5 hdc, 2 hdc in each of
the next 4 stitches, 5 hdc, 6 (7) sc, 2 sc in
each of the next two stitches. Join with sl
st. 38 (40) total stitches in round.

Rnd 3 size 0-6 months size
Ch 1, 1 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, 9 sc, 4 hdc,
2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc, 2 sc in next
stitch, 2 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, 1 hdc, 2
hdc in next stitch, 4 hdc, 9 sc, 2 sc in
next stitch, 1 sc. Join with sl st. 44 total
stitches in round.

Rnd 3 size 6-12 months size
Ch 2, 1 hdc, 2 hdc in next stitch, 14 hdc,
2 hdc in next stitch, 1 hdc, 2 sc in next
stitch, 2 sc, 2 sc in next stitch, 1 hdc, 2
hdc in next stitch, 14 hdc, 2 hdc in next
stitch, 1 hdc. Join with sl st. (46) total
stitches in round.

Rnd 4 both sizes
sl st all the way around sole. Join with sl
st. 44 (46) total stitches in round. Bind
off. It should look like this when done.
