ABBREVIATIONS

A, and B = Color A, and B
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
st(s) = stitch (es)
[] = work directions in brackets the number of times specified.

Notes

1. For sturdy edges, the turning chains do not count as the first stitch of a row. At the beginning of a row, draw up the ch-1 turning ch to about the height of a dc, then work first stitch in very first dc. At the end of a row, do not work a dc in the top of the turning chain. Each row should contain exactly 50 dc stitches.
2. Color changes can be worked by reading written instructions or following color chart.
3. Read right side rows of chart from right to left and wrong side rows from left to right.
4. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Fasten off old color. Leave long beginning and end tails to weave in later.
