Need some help with Redheart pattern

Working on Springtime baby dress LW2083....working with double ended crochet hook, doing dc loops, then working off stiches next row, no problem. Got to skirt row 3, it says: 4 dc loops in next 4 vertical bars at same time, dc loop in next verticall bar. Does anyone know how this is done? Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks!!!!!!

Pot scrubbers?

I once had a woman give me a whole bunch of yarn and while we were talking, she mentioned that there is a liquid that you can soak your crocheted wash cloths in to turn them into pot scrubbers. For the life of me I cannot remember what it was. So I was wondering if anyone here could help me? Any response is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

EASY Crochet Toys & Children's Clothes

I am new to crochet and can only do the most basic stitches and easy pattern directions. I have used some easy to follow directions for crochet toys and country animals for my grandchildren at http://www.angelfire.com/art/crochetbycarole/crochet.html
Do you know other places to look for really simple toys or clothes to crochet?

Need help with Crochet instructions please!

I am crocheting a baby blanket and in the first row I understand the directions. At the end o the row I am to join another color. It says not to break the original color and to pull long loop of the original color to prevent it from unraveling. Next it says to turn and then go on with row 2 with the new color till I get to the last stitch performed in the top of the turning chain. It says not to break the new color, pull the long loop to prevent from unraveling. Now is where I need help.......it says DO NOT TURN.

Change of Pattern

I hope that I can explain this correctly. Sometimes I like to make an afghan smaller in width or length. Some pattern books will say chain 197, etc. but also some patterns will say in multiples of 10 plus 2. How can I convert the chain 197 into a multiple stitches? Thanks for any and all help

doily help

Can someone please help me understand what this means...."Ch 3, dc in same st as beg ch-3, sk 3, sk 1 dc, (2 dc in next dc, ch 3, sk 1 dc) rep around.
I understand that ch. is 'chain' and dc is 'double crochet. But what does sk mean? From googling it, it seems it means to skip a stitch - but how do I skip 3 st and then 1 dc when the preceding round was all dc?
I'm still a beginner to crocheting, but this pattern said it was beginner friendly! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
