Demo hours
I am a manager using my instructors log in. Thanks for the comments, suggestions and other. This really helps. I found it important to understand from an instructors point of view. I will agree that we as managers do not get the communication from instruction vendors. I.e. Cyc, bead and chartpak.
As far as hours for class and demos, here is your answer. Demos for an instructed class is in the classroom bucket. It does not count against the stores payroll. Ask your store managers to pull up the sop for paying instructors and look at the matrix. The pay matrix explains who what and where. On that matrix, it will show that demos and classes for instruction is to be paid out of the classroom payroll. This is new. All demo hours use to be out of the stores hours. Not anymore! Although it has been awhile...

For those of you that are regular associates and instructors, you have to separate your worked hours. Your manager needs to separate your store hours from your demo/instruction hours to the classroom bucket. This is explained in the sop as well.

Demos drive attendance. If you wait and walk in from time to time to check roosters, it will not happen. Team up with the store manager, ask for some of there time to review and plan. For those that are getting the hour excuse, review the the sop...

There are a lot of things on these managers plates as we move into peak season, resets and store of the future. Schedule a time to talk. It will be beneficial to both of you.

Keep in mind that demo hours are not just a free for all. Payroll is still payroll. Results will be expected. Plan and work it out with the managers.
