Classes with just one student

I've seen some people say that they teach the class even if they have just one student. I've seen others say that they were "forced" to cancel because they had only one student. One teacher on the forum said that she had "special permission from her District Manager to hold classes with only one student."

When I was first contacted by the CYC, I was told that these classes were designed for "anywhere from 2-8 students". So, I was under the impression that the single student class was discouraged but not prohibited. Can anyone give me guidance on this?

I asked my manager about it yesterday, and she replied that this was between me and the CYC. I've sent an email to Jenny, but have yet to hear back.

Are we REQUIRED to have a minimum of 2 students to teach a class, or is that just a recommendation? If we want permission to continue class with just one student, do we have to take that to the DM level at Michaels, or is it really an issue for the CYC?

I'm just very confused. I feel that it should be up to us whether or not we are willing to teach just one student, as we are paid by the student and not by the hour.

Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
