STITCH PATTERN
Mesh Stitch (multiple 3 + 2)
Set-up row: Dc in second sc, *ch 1, skip one sc, work 1 dc in each of next 2 sc; rep from * across, turn.
Row 1: Ch 3, dc in second dc, *ch 1, skip 1, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc; rep from * across, ending ch 1, skip 1, dc in last dc and in top of turning chain; turn.
Rep row 1 for mesh st.
SHRUG
Ch 39 (42, 45).
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in every ch to end-38 (41, 44). Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Sc in every sc to end. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for 1". At the end ch 3, turn.
Begin working mesh stitch following Set-Up Row: inc 1 st each side [every 2nd row once, then every 3rd row once] 4 times, then every 2nd row once (9 sts increased each side for a total of 18 sts increased) working new sts into patt as soon as possible-56 (59, 62) sts.
When piece measures 14 1/2" from beg or the length desired, place a marker at each end of the row to indicate end of sleeve.
Work even until piece measures 16 1/2 (17 1/2, 18 1/2)" from marker or the length desired. Place another set of markers to indicate beg of next sleeve.
Dec 1 st each side every 2nd row once, [every 3rd row once, every 2nd row once] 4 times (9 sts decreased each side for a total of 18 sts decreased) -38 (41, 44) sts.
Work even until piece measures 13 1/2" from last set of markers or the length desired. At end of last row, ch 1 turn.
Work sc for 1". Fasten off.
FINISHING
Block to measurements.
Sew sleeve seams from cuff to markers, or as desired.
Work 1 rnd sc around top and bottom. DO NOT TURN. Work 1 rnd rev sc.
