March 3 Meet the Teacher

I don't know about anyone else, but I got mixed messages about last Saturday's (March 3) meet the teacher event. I'm new to teaching at Michael's and this was the first event I was able to particiapte in. My store's class scheduler (the one with whom I schedule classes) told me that all the teachers were required to be there (correct), that we were expected to be in our respective departments (incorrect) to answer questions and motivate potential students. We were not to be doing demos (correct).

Crochet in Rounds Tote Project

As I'm thinking about how I will teach this project, I am second guessing some of the choices I made regarding "1 hdc in same sp as last sl st" when I worked up my sample. I'd like to know what other people have done.

1. Since the sl st is worked into the first hdc of the round, I remember thinking it odd that the instruction was hdc in same space rather than same stitch. I didn't see where there would be a space so after ch2, I worked my first hdc into the same previous-row-hdc that was joined by the sl st. Is this what others have done or have I missed something?

Warm Up America Joining Parties

My store has not done this since well before I started working there 3 years ago. I am trying to schedule our first joining party, but I have no idea how long a session I need to schedule. I can't find any guidance on Moogle and no one in the store seems to have any idea either. How long does it take to complete a blanket? I really don't know how many volunteers we will have show up, so I could be working mostly by myself or I could have a dozen volunteers. There doesn't seem to be that much interest from our customers.

Openwork Wrap Instructions

Just started swatching this project today and I have a question about the end of row 4 in the first half of the project. As written the instructions say "rep from * across to last 2 ch-sps, ch 5, sk1 ch-sp, 3 dc in turning ch-sp, turn." It seems to me that it should be something like 'rep from * across to last 2 ch-sp, ch 5, sk 2 ch, 3 dc in next ch, turn.' This would put the 3 dc in the top ch of the chains that count as a triple at the beginning of row 3 rather than the space and would better match the beginning of the row ["Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in first tr"]
